Came back from work today and saw this box sitting on the dining table... Memories of my childhood days came flooding back in my mind...

This was the cake shop where I got most of my birthday cakes from back then! Remember a Mickey Mouse cake one year, and a Smurf cake another most vividly! Hehe! Mostly from the time when they were operating out from a shophouse at Holland Village!
Still remember the layout of the shop... Some steps from the entrance of the shop (I think), and plenty of silver/grey around... Besides birthday cakes, we oso used to have their eclairs and small cakes (those with the jelly creams!)... :)

Finally tried my hand on the real thing for the Sculpture Project... With all the chisels and hammers and electric tools... Was so tired by the end of the session that I hardly had the energy to make my way back to civilisation! Hammered my finger and knuckles a couple of times oso... Until my knuckle kena bruised oso (see the reddish patch?)... :(

Nonetheless, the experience was fun, and fortunately for the good company I had while at work on the project and lunch thereafter... Got to hear about the happenings at my old office... ;) Hehe!

My second adopted brother aka Xiaodi No. 2 kept his promise (I have a very low tolerance for people who don't) to invite me to his Commencement where he was Valedictorian! Had invited me to go even before I left (tho I did tell him that if he had other more "important" people to give the tix to, I would understand and he didn't have to worry about me)! He's just so sweet right! :)
Anyway, I'm so proud of him lah... Thinking back... First got to know him when he volunteered to help out at the booth at his home faculty... Think he was in Year 2 then? Something like that... And now to see him graduate... Wow! Time has just wheezed past!
I really count my lucky stars to have gotten to know him... He has been very supportive towards me (in work and personally) since Day 1 when we got to know each other, lending me his support whenever he could, and the ultimate act was when he mentioned mine and SH's name specifically in his appreciation note as part of his Valedictorian Speech! Was so touched, stunned and paiseh all at the same time cos I didn't see it coming at all! Hehe!
I hope my Xiaodi No. 2 will have much success in his future endeavours, be happy always, and that life will treat him well! :)
Here's a shot that I got of the Class of 2008... spot the mortar board that ended up (literally!) on the ledge when they were asked to throw it in the air... *LOL*

Well, almost... Hehe! Got a chance to ride on the Singapore Flyer today cos I was on duty as the CLO to my boss for the evening event... As if it wasn't stressful enough being appointed as the CLO, I also had to deal with the stress of hopping onto the capsule (in heels, mind you) in the nick of time cos it's always moving!
Nonetheless, it was a good experience (dad's got another set of subsidised tix for another ride for another time), and the timing was just right, cos we got to see daylight and sunset... *awww*...
Here're some shots that I got... Not bad huh... :)

Caught this show... So sad! Tried to control myself and quickly blink the tears away... But I think it was too much for my tear ducts to drain away lah... Luckily I didn't wear any eye make up that day... Else there'd been a local Kung Fu Panda in the house! Haha! Not sure if the two fellas I went with shed any tears too! :p
When it came to the part where the dog was about to die... *sigh* reminded me of my sick terrapin at home... I sure hope she gets well after all her antibiotic jabs! Although she can't respond as how a dog does, she has been with me for about half my life, through all my ups and downs... so I really wish for her to get well soon! :(
Hey all! I'm back! Had spent some time going through and cleaning up my old entries (all entries between 24 Nov 07 to the entry just before this one were added as post-dated entries... :P)... Realised a lot of them had to do with work... And a LOT of whining! My gosh! Can't believe I was such a "whiner" that even I am disgusted by myself... :P Haha!
Ok, so the last time I blogged was last year, 5 October... Much has changed since then... Who would've thought at that point in time that I'll be in a new place exactly seven months down the road... Not me for sure...
My chancing upon the job opportunity and my resignation had all came about so quickly that even I myself did not have the time to take in all that was happening... Maybe that's why I experienced such bad "withdrawal symptoms" when I started work at my new place... Missed the nice people there so badly (most of them were nice at least, and not to say I don't miss them now lah cos I still do)...
Fortunately, I have pretty much settled down in my new place... Oni not used to having my little corner in #06-16 cos now my place is an open concept one (high rentals lah, what to do)... Ran my first event since joining last week (the project was already waiting for me when I joined!)... which I was pretty stressed about, but was able to pull off successfully! *yay* Hope that things will stay as smooth... *keeps fingers crossed!* :)

On our way to church this morning, seeing my folks walking hand in hand brought this warm and fuzzy feeling over me... So heartwarming... That even after all these years, they are still holding hands like that...

May everyone who deserves love get to find someone to hold their hands this way too... (including me! Haha!) :)

This is the "power" cheng tng that my family swears by... though it can be a tad bit sweet... but the iced version is super refreshing after a walk along the beach... only a drive away cos the food centre's just in the vicinity of the Bedok Camp... Plenty of ingredients inside... My favourite's the dried persimmon and the starch balls... :)

And then there's the "power" toast from this quaint old kopitiam in the Sin Ming area, near the Holy Spirit church... First time I've tried kaya and butter toast with french loaf... So crispy on the outside and soft on the inside with generous servings of the kaya and butter (only grouse is that cos they heat up the bread, it's warm enough to melt all the butter away and so can get quite messy)...

All so yummylicious!

Went up to KL with the family and stayed at the suite at Berjaya Times Square again! So shiok! Hehe! I've loved the place since going up with my buddies from USP last year! That trip was so fun! - tho I didn't blog about it...:p But the toiletries this time were more 'atas' wor...

Anyway, we didn't quite take to the shopping there (a bit to the "Lian" side) and so made our way to Mid-Valley (or something liddat) instead... So much better there! :) And of course... food's always on our mind... went to check out this place that my folks recommended...

where we had (this is where a picture tells a thousand words)...

Then, as we waited at the cab stand to head back to Times Square, we saw this very spectacular sight! Don't know about its source though... Heh...
